The Breast Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (BCA) is an independent, non-profit, volunteer organization. The BCA was founded in 1994 by Linda Heines and a small group of women, who were concerned about the growing number of breast cancer cases in our community. They were determined to become educated about the issues and to advocate for more innovative breast cancer research.
The BCA continues to fulfill the mission of these founding members by focusing on advocacy, education, and communication.

The BCA sits on the Board of the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCCF) and is a member organization. The BCA offers scholarship opportunities
to its members to attend the NBCCF’s Annual Advocacy Training and Lobby Day held in Washington, D.C. The BCA has an Alert Action Network that involves
members in contacting legislators, including by email, to support issues affecting breast health.

The BCA sponsors educational and other networking events in our community. The first Educational Seminar and Luncheon took place in 1995. This popular event has evolved over the years and is now known as the Survivorship Celebration. At this event, the BCA recognizes those in the community who are making an impact with breast cancer issues as well as honoring survivors celebrating another year of life beyond treatment.
The BCA is a co-sponsor of the annual educational program called Looking Upstream for Environmental Links to Breast Cancer: an update from the Breast Cancer and the Environment Research Center.

The BCA electronically distributes e- newsletters which feature information about membership events, a link to community events and resources, Hot Topics related to breast health and links to nationally known organizations. The newsletter known as the the BCA Bulletin supplements the e-newsletter in a hard copy format. View these newsletters on our web site. Additional questions can be answered by calling: (513) 530-0545 or by e-mailing us at bcacincy@yahoo.com.
